To Geek or Not?
Prior to 2001, there were no such thing as anyone that provided computer repair service here in Tulsa as a “Geek”. Nowadays, if you look in the phone book or online, you will see a plethora of outfits that call themselves, Geek (something)…
Here is an example of what I am talking about,
Geek Squad charges an average of $149 per job.
Geek Rescue charges an average of $40 for 30 minutes.

Not only are they high priced, but have a high disapproval rating too. I have heard of Geek Squad charging as much as $300 to replace a LCD screen on a laptop. My charge would be about half for the same work. They also can charge extra for on site work. Some other “Geek” firms are not even local. They just pretend to be.
Here is an example of what they charge to remove spyware. I would charge a fraction of the cost. They are just pure greed. To get as much money from you as possible. They charge a whopping $249 to do an in-store data recovery. If they do not succeed, you only pay them $99.
